Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, also known as 4T, is a Vietnam volleyball superstar. She made history as the tallest female volleyball player in Vietnam, with a height of 193 centimeters. She led her team, Sports Center 1, to win the women's club volleyball championship at the 23rd Asia Championship without losing. In the championship, she faced off against a Thai team and won, earning praise from the Thai player, Sara Nusara Tomkom.
Looking ahead to the 2023 SEA Games, 4T has set her sights on winning the gold medal. She recognizes that it will be a difficult feat but is determined to do her best and play for her team, not just for herself. The Thai women's volleyball team will also be competing in the Games, and 4T is looking forward to the challenge.
The 2023 SEA Games will feature two groups of four teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. Hanh Thuy used to play football for Bangkok Glass VC (Thailand), competed in Taiwan (China) in the shirt of Attack Line, before coming to Denso Airybees (Japan), the girl born in 1997 had just finished her contract. with another team at "Land of the Rising Sun" PFU Blue Cats.
Unable to help the host team of "Blue Cats" get the position in the top 4 as expected (8th overall) but Thuy has made many important contributions to the Japanese club. Despite being placed in the "back" position, the 1m93 player has integrated into the team's playstyle, showing his ability to block the ball and score points in different positions than an attacker.
Worth mentioning, after 32 matches in the official Blue Cats squad, Thanh Thuy has scored 364 points with 60 successful blocks and 11 kicks to score directly. In the top 20 athletes scoring the most points in the season, the top 3 assistants scoring the most points in the 2021-2022 Japanese women's national volleyball season.
After 4 months of playing in Japan, Thanh Thuy returned to join the Vietnamese team in the coming days to prepare for the 31st SEA Games campaign, which will open on May 12 in Vietnam.
The recent experience in Japan may not help Thuy's skills in the main position, but it helps the "long-legged" born in 1997 to play more diverse. She can play well in the position of auxiliary, opposite pass whenever the team has a position.
