Nintendo has now announced a new installment, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which follows the cosmic trilogy of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild. The latter game featured Link and Princess Zelda on a quest to find and train new Guardians to fight against the evil Ganon. After a hundred-year slumber, Link awakens with amnesia and must explore a world threatened by Ganon's army. With the help of four trained Guardians, including Princess Zelda's father, Link regains his memories, develops his skills, and defeats Ganon to save Princess Zelda.
In Tears of the Kingdom, the gameplay will build on the previous installment's success, with a new feature of floating platforms in the sky, new enemies to fight, and new techniques to master. These techniques include Recall, which allows players to turn back time to move objects, Fuse, which combines weapons and objects to enhance their power and range, and other skills that can be used with arrows and other weapons. These gameplay elements suggest that Tears of the Kingdom will continue to raise the bar for the Zelda series and the gaming industry as a whole.
